About the Author:
Michele Lang Buchanan grew up in Los Alamos, NM, as her father was a scientist with the Manhattan Project. She enjoyed a fulfilling career as a special education teacher for the Albuquerque Public Schools, working mostly with behavior disordered and incarcerated students. After retiring, she immersed herself in learning to play the Celtic harp, and traveled the Rennfaire and Celtic festival circuit with her hand-made costumes. That small business, called “Vestments,” kept her very busy for another ten years. Michele delivers lectures on Scottish history, harp history, and performs with “Celtic Singers of NM.” She lives in Albuquerque with her husband Tom, and performs with harp for hospice, at Celtic festivals and various fairs. As a fiber artist, she has won acclaim for embroidery, quilts, and needlework of all types. Perhaps it’s a love affair with strings!
